Properties of virtual modelling of geoimages

Abstract

In the last several years in computer cartography the new direction - virtual modeling and mapping began to be formed.

Virtual modeling and mapping - one of the new directions of introduction of geoinformation technologies in sciences about Earth and social and economic sciences, adjacent to them. Virtual geoimages reproduce real or abstract objects and situations in the program-controlled environment and provide interactive interaction with the observer. They combine properties of cards, space pictures, block charts and computer animation.

In article are considered about properties of virtual geoimages, spheres of their application, about the prospects of development of geoinformation mapping.
